VIDEO and FINE ARTS COMPETITION

Ahead of the Second Summit for Democracy on March 29 and 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and Transparency International has launched a global art competition, open to young people from all over the world.
The competition aims to celebrate the young anti-corruption movement worldwide, highlighting that youth participation is critical to breaking the vicious cycle of corruption.
How does it work?
The competition has the following two categories
1. Fine Arts Category:
Theme: The world we want free of corruption
Formats: Photography, Drawing, Painting
Illustration requirements:
- No endorsement of products or services
- No obscene, violent, racist, or defamatory content or content of a sexual nature
- All submissions must be subtitled in English, should they be in another language.
2. Video Category:
Theme: Transparency through the Eyes of Youth: Technologies to Fight against Corruption
Video requirements:
- Length: between 30 seconds and 3 minutes (including credits, should those be featured)
- Open genre, including animations, fiction, spoken word...
- The format used can be vertical or horizontal, just make sure it is the right for each platform.
- No endorsement of products or services
- No obscene, violent, racist, or defamatory content or content of a sexual nature
- All submissions must be subtitled in English, should they be in another language.
Proof of identity will be required from all winners. The work should be an original piece on the proposed themes. Participants are allowed to submit only one piece of work.
How to Enter:
- Create and post your video or a high-quality photo of your artwork to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. Tag Transparency International’s account (Tik Tok, Instagram, and YouTube) and use the hashtag #S4DKorea.
- Fill out and submit applicant information with a short description via this applicant form and include the link to the post with your artwork or video (you will also find a QR code for the form at the end of this document).
- All pieces must be original and completed solely by the participant.
- Once a piece of work is submitted, it is considered a final submission and may not be modified, edited, or replaced.
Eligibility:
Participants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be of 18-30 years old, by the time of the entry submission.
- Must be available to travel to the Republic of Korea between March 27 and March 31.
- The submission, must be able to create awareness and inspire other young people from all over the world.
- Submissions must not contain obscenity, explicit sexual material, nudity, profanity, graphic violence, calls, or incitement to violence, commercial solicitation, or commercial promotion.
- Submissions must conform to local law and must not contain content or images that could be considered abusive, inflammatory, denigrating, or disrespectful to any of the Contest Organizers, or to any groups, individuals, or institutions. Submissions must adhere both in appearance and in fact to the norms of civil discourse. In other words, the content of all submissions must be suitable for a global, public audience.
Ineligible Participants
The following categories of participants will not be considered for the competition:
- Individuals or organizations of questionable integrity or goals.
- No juror or employee of the organization holding the competition is eligible to enter the competition.
- Individuals below the age of 18 at the time of entry.
- Individuals above the age of 30 at the time of entry.
Deadlines and the process for notification of winners
Time Line:
The contest commences on February 15. Entries may be submitted between February 15 and March 10. Winners will be contacted via email by March 17 and a public announcement will be made at the award ceremony on March 30.
Prize:
Each Category will have 3 winners. All 6 winners will be invited to Seoul, the Republic of Korea for an award ceremony on March 30. (Round trip flights and accommodation between March 28– March 31 will be provided)
Rights:
All rights to artwork submitted are reserved by the Government of Korea and Transparency International.
